Weather

Weather turns the panel into a local forecast glance: current temperature, short conditions, and near-term outlook from the U.S. National Weather Service. The underlay you configured still shows through — forecast chrome is the scene, not a replacement for your ambient motion.

Three optional visits

Enable whichever presentation fits the room. All three share one forecast fetch.

Weather Now — scene.weather_now.enabled / playlist id weather_now
Weather Periods — scene.weather_periods.enabled /weather_periods
Weather Daily — scene.weather_daily.enabled /weather_daily

Include enabled ids in scene.timing.order (USB:settings set scene.timing.order idle_clock,weather_now thensettings save).

Location and coverage

Forecast fetch runs only when location.source isgps or manual with a U.S. home point inside NWS coverage. IP-approximate location shows Set location quiet chrome; no forecast fetch.

Readiness

Until the sign holds a parsed forecast snapshot, a weather visit isnot display-ready. The playlist keeps epoch slots, but the compositor holds the previous scene for that dwell — no invented numbers on the matrix.

Refresh and desk fallback

Live refresh uses HTTPS to api.weather.gov when the sign is on home Wi‑Fi with wall time set. Shared cadence:scene.weather.refresh_minutes (default 45).

Attribution

Forecast data are from NOAA/NWS. Credit NOAA/NWS in product materials. Weather is routine forecast content; hazard watches and warnings remain inNWS Alerts.
