The OS
B0RD is an operating layer for LED matrix signs: boot, clock, countdown, notify, network, and a control plane humans and agents can trust.
It is sold and operated as a product appliance — not as a generic lighting controller. The manuals on this site describe what the sign does and how to run it.
Hardware is a focused target: ESP32-S3 class modules with a 64×64 HUB75 panel. Behaviors are deliberate and few so the panel stays readable at a glance.
Apps
On B0RD, what appears on the panel comes from apps — underlay motion (for example plasma) and base chrome (for example launch countdown). More kinds may arrive later.
You do not download or sideload an app onto the sign. Install meansbuild into the firmware when the product image is composed — not a runtime app store on the device. Open core keeps the compositor, idle clock, boot splash, settings, and USB/SoftAP control plane. Product apps such as plasma underlay and launch countdown ship in the product build alongside that core. Integrators can keep private apps in their own product builds while the public platform stays flashable without those secrets.
